Ode to the Horizon.

We drove through the country roads again today, as we have done for the past 31 mornings. Our chosen route takes us through the country roads that surround us. Early into our drive, we rise on the hill to a stop sign that sits approximately 400ft above sea level. At this point each morning we are greeted by a breathtaking sight. Each morning the Horizon is picturesque and unique from the day before. On this fall morning, you, the Horizon were glorious. The layers of color and depth spanning all around us, this vision so warm and comforting. I can’t help but smile at how lucky we have been to share this view so often and with a quick fleeting thought- “ my gosh this earth is spectacular and I am grateful I have shared this with you” and in an instance I press the gas pedal and we continue on our way.

What I do know for sure is that these moments however fleeting take their place in my memory bank. I hold these seconds in my heart and know that I will look back fondly upon them as you grow, with the warmth and comfort that the Horizon is giving us each day.
